Program Description
Are you looking to build a consistent habit of running or walking but aren’t sure where to begin?
Need a little motivation—or accountability—to get started?
Already running regularly and ready to take your goal-specific training to the next level?
The Medved Endurance Project is a supportive, encouraging, community-based training program offered through Medved Running & Walking Outfitters. Our group includes walkers and runners of all levels—social accountability partners, marathon training pain-cave pushers, new moms, seasoned grandpas, and everyone in between.
For those who want to build consistency, strength, and endurance with supportive coaching and group accountability throughout the year, we have two membership levels that run in calendar-year quarters, but you can join at any time throughout the year. Choose the schedule and membership level that works best for you:
- Full Program: Tuesdays (coached workouts) at 6:00 pm and Saturdays (Ambassador led group runs) at 8:00 am
- Weekend Program: Saturdays at 8:00 am only
The MEP also offers targeted, race specific programs throughout the year with the Full Program:
- Buffalo Marathon Program (10k/Half/Full): 16 weeks of Full Program benefits from February 2 – May 24, 2026
- Jungle Jog 5k Program: 8 weeks of Full Program benefits from May 26 – July 19, 2026 (registration will open in April 2026)
- Five Weeks to Five Miles: 5 weeks of Full Program benefits from October 20 – November 26, 2026 (registration will open in Fall 2026)

We meet at a variety of locations around the Rochester area. Some of our favorites include: Genesee Valley Park, Cobbs Hill, Brighton Town Park, and the Riverway/Canalway Trails.

Weekend Program ($25/Qtr or $80/Annual) – This level includes:
- Saturday Morning (8:00 am) Group Runs
- Bonus Trail Runs! Typically held Sunday mornings at 8:30 am
- Discount entry for Medved Madness, The Feast Thanksgiving Day Race, and other regional races
- Member outings & events
- Medved Endurance Project swag
- Medved Store Coupon – if registered at the start of each quarter
Full Program ($110/Qtr or $400/Annual prorated) – This level includes:
- All Weekend Program benefits, plus:
- Tuesday Night (6:00 pm) Coached workouts.
- This consists of Hills, Speed, Endurance & Clinics
- Season appropriate trail and snowshoe runs
- Includes all race specific training plans or a personalized training plan upon request
- Enhanced Store Coupon
Buffalo Marathon Weekend Training Program: February 2 – May 24, 2026
We invite you to join us for a comprehensive 16-week training block designed specifically for the Buffalo Marathon Weekend. This event features a variety of race options, including a 5K, Half Marathon, and Full Marathon, scheduled for May 23-24. The Medved Endurance Project will focus its training efforts on preparing participants for these races.

Jungle Jog 5K Training Program: May 26 – July 19, 2026
Join us for a comprehensive 8-week training block to get ready for the Jungle Jog! The Rochester classic is a favorite across the board as walkers, first-time 5k runners and seasoned champions challenge themselves on the course that weaves up and through the Seneca Park Zoo. Whether you are looking to complete it for the first time, or improve your performance, we will get you ready!
