Recently, we had the opportunity to host a bra turn-in event for Free The Girls. The event was very well received and we are now a permanent drop off facility for this great organization.
What they do:
Free The Girls is an international 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to helping sex trafficking survivors with a path to true freedom. It’s a journey from horrific trauma to reintegrating into the life they were meant to live with their family and community. Their goal for true freedom is measured by economic opportunity, restored health, social well-being, education, and a hopeful future.
How they do it:
Free The Girls partners with those who have a heart for victims of trafficking. With holistic reintegration programs and economic opportunity they offer these women the ability to empower themselves and change the trajectory of their lives.
By donating your new or gently used bras, you’re giving economic opportunity that these women will use to change their lives. Your donation enables the survivors to be able to start their own businesses selling bras in their local second-hand clothing markets while they recover and build their new life. Medved will now accept both new and gently used bras of all sizes and styles, including sports bras, nursing bras, and camisoles.
If you’d like to help, drop off your new or gently used bras at the store during our regular business hours. We will send them to Free The Girls and help them help others.
