Patagonia Double Feature Film Festival (Free)

August 16, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

- Free

Join us at the shop on Thursday, August 16th at 7:30 pm for the Patagonia Double Feature.

We will be showing the short films Takayna and Fishpeople.

Takayna: Could Running Save a Rainforest?

Tasmania may be nearly 9,000 miles away from the United States, but in a film by Patagonia that explores a battle over public land in its remote Tarkine region, viewers will quickly recognize the resemblance to scenes playing out across America. Learn more about this critical fight for an ancient rainforest at Patagonia.

Fishpeople: A Film About Lives Transformed by the Sea

To some, the ocean is a fearsome and dangerous place. But to others, it’s a limitless world of fun, freedom and opportunity where life can be lived to the full. A new documentary presented by Patagonia and directed by Keith Malloy, FISHPEOPLE tells the stories of a unique cast of characters who have dedicated their lives to the sea. From surfers and spearfishers to a former coal miner and a group of at-risk kids in San Francisco, it’s a film about the transformative effects of time spent in the ocean—and how we can leave our limitations behind to find deeper meaning in the saltwater wilderness that lies just beyond the shore.

Our friends from Altra will be at our Free Thursday Night Trail Run at Mendon Ponds Park (Beach Parkoing Lot) at 6:00 pm for a preview run of one of the legs of A Midsummer Night’s Madness Trail Half Marathon and Relay. They will return to the store for the start of Patagonia Double Feature and provide refreshments.
