GCV&M’s 5K Trail Race

Make history while preserving history on the most unique race course around – through nature trails and the Historic Village, all kicked off by firing a 100-pound anvil high into the air! Whether you’re running or power-walking, this chip-timed race will be one to remember. Post-race activities include museum admission for the day, photo ops, refreshments, and awards! Plus your entrance fee goes to support the museum and its mission. Reservations available; walk-ins accepted. 

The CourseSpeed along our nature trails to beat your best time. Challenge co-workers and family members to join you in some fitness for a good cause. Power walk with your friends while taking in scenic views of our Historic Village. GCV&M’s exclusive on-site course combines groomed trails through our winding woods with gravel byways amid our historic buildings, creating a route that is as safe and pastoral as it is challenging.

Your entry fee includes:

  • Event souvenir
  • FREE all-day access tot he 19th-Century Historic Village, John L Wehle Gallery and Nature Center
  • Chip-timed race results
  • Photo opportunities with staff in historic costume
  • Post-race refreshments
  • Donation to Genesee Country Village & Museum to help preserve local history

After the Finish Line

Refuel with complimentary port-race refreshments as you await our awards ceremony. We will present prizes for “Fastest Youth” (under 12), “Fastest Female” and “Fastest Male.” Prizes include gift certificates to the Flint Hill Store and items handcrafted in the historic village. Then, spend the rest of your day experiencing life in our historic, 19th-Century village.

Registration Fee$30 General Admission/ $20 GCV&M Member (log in here to receive member discount)

$15 Student price is offered. Please call 585-294-8218 with a valid ID number to get this discount.

 

Reminders

  • Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome!
  • Check-in begins at 8:00am. Start time is 9:00am sharp!
  • Course closes at 10:30am. Any participants still on the course at this time will be escorted back to the check-in tent.
  • The course is unpaved and uneven. Please plan accordingly.
