FALL FOLIAGE RUNS

Free Fall Foliage Runs

Autumn is coming. Join us for our Free Fall Foliage Runs on Sunday mornings beginning October 15th. The runs will be on mostly paved surfaces, with a little bit of trail mixed in. No special gear will be needed. Just running shoes and some form of hydration.

With these runs we will be exploring The Lower Gorge of the Genesee River. The Lower Gorge is a wonder of natural and human history, and it’s accessible to you every day via an array of paths, parks, and programs!

Just downriver from the better known High Falls area downtown, the Lower Gorge boasts stunning cascades, sheer cliffs, marshes and wetlands, grand bridges, towering trees, past and present influences of industry and the city’s history, and many other elements that will strike your senses.

The Gorge is a natural marvel unmatched in any other city. Through Maplewood Park, the Genesee Riverway Trail, Seneca Park, Turning Point Park (part of the Riverway Trail), Seth Green Fishing Access, and more, you can immerse yourself in the Lower Gorge.

Out first run will be Sunday, October 15th at 8:00 a.m. Please park at the Maplewood Rose Garden Located off Driving Park Ave. A map can be found here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Maplewood+Rose+Garden/@43.1814087,-77.6332485,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x89d6b41603d21c73:0xde2073dc4f0afa5!8m2!3d43.1814087!4d-77.6310598
